What to Write on a Pop-By Card for Real Estate Agents: Seasonal Ideas and Everything to Include

You found the perfect pop-by gift. You have your bags ready, your candy is sorted, and your delivery day is on the calendar. And then you sit down to write your card and your mind goes completely blank.

What do you even say?

This is one of the most common things real estate agents get stuck on when it comes to pop-bys. The gift is the easy part. The words are where people freeze. And because it feels hard it becomes one more reason to put the whole thing off until tomorrow.

So let's fix that right now.

Here is everything you need to know about what to write on a pop-by card, what information to always include, and seasonal message ideas you can use all year long.

WHAT SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON YOUR POP-BY CARD

Before we get into the seasonal messages let's talk about what every single pop-by card should include regardless of the theme or time of year.

Your name
This sounds obvious but you would be surprised how many agents hand deliver a gift with a card that only has a generic message and no name on it. Your first and last name should always be on the card.

Your phone number
Your client should never have to search for how to reach you. Put your phone number on every card every single time.

Your logo or headshot
A small logo or professional headshot reinforces your brand and makes the card feel polished and intentional. It also helps clients connect your face to your name especially if it has been a while since they have seen you.

A short personal message
Keep it warm, genuine, and brief. You do not need to write a novel. Two to four sentences is perfect. The goal is to make your client feel thought of not to overwhelm them with text.

A soft call to action
You do not need to hard sell on a pop-by card but a gentle reminder that you are always available for real estate questions is completely appropriate and keeps the door open for future conversations.

HOW LONG SHOULD THE MESSAGE BE

Short. Always short. Your client is going to read this card in about ten seconds standing at their front door. A long paragraph feels like homework. A short warm message feels like a genuine moment of connection.

Aim for two to four sentences maximum. Say something personal, say something warm, remind them you are their agent, and sign your name. That is it.

TIPS FOR WRITING YOUR OWN MESSAGES

Keep it personal. If you know something specific about your client reference it. A client who just had a baby, started a new job, or sent their kid off to college will feel so seen when you acknowledge that in your card.

Keep it genuine. Do not write something that sounds like it came from a template even if it did. Read it out loud before you print it and ask yourself if it sounds like you. If it does not rewrite it until it does.

Keep it brief. Two to four sentences is the sweet spot. Anything longer and people stop reading.

Always end with a soft reminder that you are their agent. Something as simple as "as always I am just a call away for anything real estate related" is all you need. It is not pushy. It is just professional.
